Hello,

My window crashed a few times and now it would get stuck at shut down when i try to turn it off. Is there a way I can repair the OS files? Btw I'm using xp home.

thanks, Dell

Yes, use your Windows CD to perform a "Repair" installation. This is not a new installation of Windows or the "Recovery Console", but a repair installation. Do you know what I'm talking about?

Not that screen. Restart the installation and wait until it scans for previous versions of windows. It'll find one, hit enter, and it'll give you the option to repair it. Select that option. It's the second repair screen, not the recovery console.
