browser problems...

Sorry if I'm a bother mates.

I use both IE and Firefox.

My problem is when I view "certain" sites with Macromedia Flash objects both browsers tend to freeze. For example when I go to projectplaylist or view sites with ProjectPlaylist on their blogs and/or myspaces etc. both browsers freeze. Yet if I visit sites such as myspace with their regular Myspace music boxes or those Flash Marquee picture slides you can get off of photobucket. The browser doesn't freeze.

So to sum it up why are my browsers freezing when I view projectplaylist flash but they don't freeze for any other flash objects? It just started doing it recently.

I've already did all the obvious things:
running spyware and virus checks, fixed all...
defraged...
checked that comp and browsers were up to date...

some background on my comp:
this comp is old...
its an emachines...
running windows me...
30gb harddrive...
128ram...

currently its all I have the rest of my equitment has been stolen.

=/

128MB RAM is probably your problem. I think your computer is maxed out just running Windows XP. Or is it Win98?

    Its running ME...
I already figured it might have something to do with the low ram...
I just found it odd it started to do it out of the blue...

I've heard the newer version of Firefox are increasing the CPU usage to their max causing things to freeze and crash...

    could this be the problem?

I just updated FF to Firefox v2...
but even if that was the problem, it doesnt explain why my IE is mis-behaving also...

I'm with Leo, 128MB is horribly inadequate.

On top of that, WinME is not noted for being good at running anything. I'd start with a RAM upgrade (memory is cheap nowadays, so I'd shoot for 512MB), then maybe look around for a cheap copy of WinXP or even Win2K. Once Vista hits the streets a month from now you might be able to find a good deal. :)
