Windows Defender Problem

edited January 2007 in Science & Tech
Hi all, I'm a novice when it comes to fixing problems with my computer. Here's my two issues:

On start-up a box pops up that reads "Windows Defender, Application failed to initialize 0X800106BA. A problem caused Windows Defender Service to stop. To start the service, restart your computer or search Help and Support on how to start a service manually."
Is this a problem?

Secondly, a box in the lower right always pops up telling me that my virtual memory is too low.
Is this also a problem?

What can I do to keep these two from poping up every time?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Erv, I was about to suggest that you post a HiJackThis log...then I looked at your name and recognized you. I answered those questions...or at least started to, over at this thread. If you want to go back there and look at my suggestions. You have one too many anti-spaywares and some unnecessary crud.

Thanks for the notification, mtrox. No need to keep this thread open. It's redundant.

Erv, if you follow all the recommendations in your other thread and problems persist, please feel free then to open a new thread.
