Last week, Intel started talking about its 45 nanometer CPU's and today we find out the company has had to delay its beyond hopeful, original plans. Intel will not be getting its way with a late 2007 release, but has been forced to push it back to early 2008.
In Q1 2008 Intel plans to ship two new 45 nanometer cores. The Dual Core chip is codenamed Wolfdale and has 1333 MHZ FSB. It supports up to 6MB of cache memory as well as two cores and two threads. It also supports Intel VIIV, vPRO, Intel VT, Intel TXT, HT architecture, Speedstep, & Intel 64 bit. The chip will also fit a Socket 775 motherboard, but don't be surprised if you have to buy a new board for the chip.

Great news for AMD. They now have a little breathing room.
