Belkin F5d9230uk4 wireless router and itunes help

edited February 2007 in Science & Tech
Hi all,
I've looked everywhere and cant find anything about this so i hope someone here can help, I'm at uni in private accommodation using the net here which we have to pay for ive split our connection 4 ways through the belkin router so me and my friends share the costs of the net, when i just have a single computer now when i have my desktop or laptop hardwired into the net then i can see everyone else in other rooms around the building's itunes shares, as soon as the router is there i can ony see our internal routers itunes shares (ie the 4 of us) ive turned the firewall off and the only filtering i have is mac access control im not worries about security to be honest 3 of us are linux users anyway, on the router itself ive used belkins "virtual servers" option to open ports 3689 which is what we need ed for the internal itunes sharing to work.
Last night i tried something else and turned the router into an access point whiich alolowed me to see other people shares but also blocked me from administrating the router and also cut our net off asking us to re-register so a hard reset was needed,

has anyone got any ideas of how to do this??
thanks in advance

Talv, we would like to help you, but your request post is a huge jumble of goobledygook. Please put it in a known language. Believe it or not, your keyboard has periods ('.') and upper case letter options. You don't need to write a paper ready for grading or publication, but please don't make those who might otherwise help you have to hire a translator. OK, that's the only put down I'll throw at you. We are actually a friendly group here, but believe some form of standardized communication is advantageous.

Hello Talv. Welcome to Short Media.

Leonardo is right. Please, take the time to use proper punctuation, spelling and sentence structure in your posts. (There's a spell checker in the upper right hand corner of the window you type your post into.) If you're in University, I assume you're capable of this. Try to refrain from abbreviations (unless they're common on Internet forums (e.g. BTW, etc.)) as it's possible we may not know your meaning when you use them. Following these basic guidelines will go a long way toward our being able to understand what it is you are saying so that we can help you.
    • Having said that, what is it that you are asking?
    • Are you asking how to reset your Belkin wireless router?
    • HERE is Belkin's (UK) web page on router support.
    • Find your router model no. there and download its user manual.
    • The user manual will provide you w/ the information you need.
    • Of course, once you've done this, if you still need assistance, just post back here and we'll be happy to help you. :smiles:
