I'll give you 1200 bucks if you can find a PS3 on the shelves...

In what has to be one of the most irrational comments to come from Sony's stable yet, SCEA CEO Jack Tretton has offered $1200.00 to anyone who finds a PS3 console anywhere in North America, that's been on shelves for more than a few minutes.

He was quoted as saying: "I can get any retail buyer on the phone with you and get them to verify that not a single retail location in America where there's a PlayStation 3 on the shelf for sale. They've all been sold in a matter of minutes." Despite that interview being conducted in early January, there were still plenty PS3's to be found on the shelves.

You've got to love Penny Arcade's take on this one...

Most Best Buys in Michigan have had stock since mid-December. We actually have trouble selling them at our store.

I've seen PS3's at the Target and Fry's around here, of course I never even gave them a second glance due to the price.

That Penny Arcade comic was fantastic! "psh, yeah... if we can find one." ;D

In recent news, Sony has gone Bankrupt! And not by it's dwindling PS3 sales, but because some moron CEO awarded hundreds of thousands of people $1200 per PS3 they could find on the shelves.

    Apparently there were many.

Wow, you guys gotta do something there in Southern California about the crime problem. Sounds like the PS3 is a hot item for theft. :sad2:

There are always at least 3 at the target near me. This is in the middle of a highly student-populated area.
