I played a little last night. After playing the demo, and the full version, I like it. I've always been fairly horrible at RTSs, but I'm still having a lot of fun with this one.

On big maps it is pretty easy to mass a huge army. I had like 50 tanks with 90Jugernaunts follwed up by 65 orcs's... the guy quit the game when he saw what was coming :(

The question is how does it compare to C&C Generals :eek:

It doesn't; Generals was like the C&C experiment that didn't quite make it. C&C 3 is ultimately the same as the other C&C games in the Tiberium universe as far as game play, with the exception of a few neat innovations to the game, but the fireworks are the best I've seen in the series. I love it!

CnC3 is the CnC most of us have been waiting for...

I've not really played any of the other C&C game, but the demo sucked me in. I've had a blast with the full version so far. It's gotten me back into RTSs.

With CnC3 in the WCG now it can only get bigger... the nice thing so far is EA has been supporting the game pretty dang well already with patch #4 already in the works, mostly fixing ISP conline connection issues... Butatleast they are fixing them up front and are not blaming PC specs this time around.

My friend had issues getting online but the day after it came out there was a patch available online. I love this game!

I had to forward port 8088, and now I have no problems getting online.

Is anyone else stuck on the first mission of Act III of the GDI campaign? Good god, I got demolished on easy!

Is that the mission in Croatia where you have to secure the base and manage your power for your defenses?

Yes. The farthest I've managed is getting the point where I'm to destroy the three surrounding NOD bases. But, I never get a chance to attack, because they're just bombarding me constantly.

What I did was take out the base to the northeast first, then bring my MCV in, making sure to destroy garrosonable buildings along its route, set up heavy defenses at the bridges (and destroying them, too, helps). Then just make sure you've got air defenses in your base and build up a force and take out the other two Nod bases as you can. You should be pretty well set up to build up a good sized force that way.

I am working on that mission right now. I had to save once i got the mcv back to my base. I have really good defenses setup so they aren't damaging me, but it is tough to get through to them. I look forward to finishing the level though.

So any good sales on for this game? I am a bit late to the party and might be looking to pick this one up sometime soon...

Ugh. I hate it. Glad I played the demo before buying the game.

Unintuitive controls. Bunch of icons on my screen I don't need. Pesky voices telling me to do things I don't want to do (in the game, not the normal voices). And the cheesy live action video would only be acceptable if I was playing Wing Commander or any other SegaCD game.

Good points? Nice eye candy, I guess.

I'm not here to thead crap, but if anyone else is considering buying it, please play the demo first and see if it's your cup of tea.

Well I went out and bought the game tonight... Do we have a Short-Media Clan or anything for multiplayer?

What rock have you been hiding under since the series started? Its classic C&C, what were you expecting? And the vids are SUPPOSED to be cheesy.

Well I'll frame it that way then - I think classic C&C isn't that great, and eye candy isn't enough to salvage that. I thought it'd be worth a try, though. I didn't download the game already biased or anything; it had been so long since I've played the older ones I had forgotten just about everything about them.

I would probably be okay with the cheesy vids if I liked the rest of the game. I didn't mind them in the Wing Commanders.

CnC3 is a game of choice for me, as it is fast paced, and offers the classic arcade style RTS I loved as a kid... CnC has been in my blood for years, and this game got it going again :)

If your looking for innovation, this game is not for you, if your looking for fast fluid game play buy this game. if you like long games, SupCom and Company of heroes might be a pick for you.

Well since my question went unanswered, I guess that means that nobody has set up a Short-Media clan... Would there be any more interest besides me in getting this started? I would love to play online against (or with) people that I know...

I'd be interested. I haven't been playing much lately, though. Been really busy at work.

I'd be interested in at least playing. My roomies don't like to play with me anymore, something about the losing

Well see if we were in a clan then we could all play together rather than against each other so it would work out... :-)

I just built up a force of about 20 tanks and took out all of the units around me... I actually destroyed all the bases before even bringing in my MCV...

That may be an idea. Hit them before they're up the tech tree too high.
