P4 vs P8 power connector

Hey guys,

I have the Hiper 580W PSU with the P5B deluxe wifi. The 580W does not come EPS 12V compliant. They have an adapter that takes two molex and the P4 making the P8. After installing it seems as though my comp is much more stable. I lowered the v-core and it seems to be just as stable.

Is this just my imagination or is it real? Would someone be able to explain the difference?

Thanks:bigggrin:

If you motherboard has an EPS12V connector, it's for a purpose. No, it's probably not your imagination. It's simply better voltage distribution throughout the motherboard, especially to the CPU socket where it's needed the most.

The hiper 580w and the P5B deluxe work just fine. It only needs the 24pin ATX connector and the 4 pin P4 connector. That is why there's a cap over 1/2 of the 8 pins on the EPS connector.
