flv converter to mpg? avi?

i just need a good converter from flv (whatever that is) to an mpg or avi or anything that my computer will run. lol
any help would be appreciated

    actually i was looking for something that would convert it.
    I have looked on google and have downloaded 3 programs and none of them seem to work.
    so im looking for a good one to use.

    Why convert flv to mpg or avi ?

    You can view flv files with your flash player

    well it would be easiest for it to be mov. so i can put them on my ipod

    I've been using "Total Video Converter" from www.effectmatrix.com for the past couple of weeks and it works well, however it is only free for about 15 days to try. Haven't found any freeware prgrams that do the same thing as yet, but if you locate something let us know.....

    Has anyone downloaded super and the conversion works?
    i tried to download it and it gave me four setup icons and i dont know what or which ones to download

    Hi Trev,
    What you are getting is four download "mirrors". You can click on any one of the 4 download icons. Just click on the first one in the list, then just save to desktop (or your preffered location). Once you have saved the installation file, double click on it to install the program. Once installed you will need to spend some time working out exactly how to use the program, but it does work for what you want to do. If you need any help post back to this thread and myself or somebody else should be able to assist.......:thumbsup:
