Firefox help

edited April 2007 in Science & Tech
I am having a strange thing happen with my Firefox Web browser. When ever I open it up it will not open "Maximized" only open in a half size then I have to maximize it. I close it in Max mode, but when I re-open same thing. What gives and how do I fix it?

Odd, mine opens in the state/size that I closed it.

Try holding control when you maximize the browser. Close, then reopen.

Set the shortcut to open Maximized.

This happened to me a couple months ago. If nothing else here works then try what I did. I recommend this as a last resort though, because you'll lose your bookmarks and other info that Firefox stores so back up what you can.

    Open My Computer and go to C:\Documents and Settings\[User Name]\Application Data*\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\[random string].default\

Once there, delete everything in that folder. Like I said, you'll lose your bookmarks and whatever addresses and passwords that Firefox stores, so if it's not worth it then DON'T DO IT!.

*You may have to set the folder options to show hidden files/folders.

Thanks to Prime for this fix. :)

I had to unistall Firefox and remove everthing. Went into the "hidden folders" and deleted them and edited the registry, then re-installed it. Luckly I have two computers and use a Firefox addon called Foxmarks which stores your bookmarks on a remote server, so every time I add a new bookmark on either computer it syncronizes my them, I didn't lose a one, still had to re-install my extentions though.
But thanks for the help, just couldn't get it to work like before for some reason.
