Nvidia 8800 Ultra?

Nvidia has been holding onto the high-end market for quite sometime with the new DX10 based 8800GTX. This has mainly been because ATI has had numerous delays around the code name R600 GPU which will be ATI’s first DX10 chip. But, Nvidia knows the R600 is going to be faster than the current 8800GTX and it has the card to trump the R600.
Many sites are calling the new GPU the "8800 Ultra" or even the "8850 X2" or "8950 GTX", but no one knows the true name of the upcoming card. One Nvidia partner seemed to know a bit more about the specs and after a bit of drinking, and a few others knew about those specs as well. It looks as if Nvidia is shooting to get the core speed up to 750MHz~850MHz and should have memory clocks dialed in at 2400MHz ~ 2800MHz, making this new card the biggest beast to ever step foot out of the green gates. Release dates are up in the air but partners seem to know about it, and if they want to hit the rumored released date of April 17th or even April 28th, PCBs should be showing up at any moment.

I would be more interested in the time machine used to acquire a core running those speeds

8900 GTX: G80 on new 0.08u process. 700 MHz ROP Domain. 1800 MHz Shader Domain. 768 MB GDDR4 @ 2200 MHz (384-bit interface). 128 stream processors per GPU.
8900 GTS: G80 on new 0.08u process. 600 MHz ROP Domain. 640 MB GDDR4 @ 2000 MHz (320-bit interface). 128 stream processors per GPU.
8900 GT: G80 on new 0.08u process. 600 MHz ROP Domain. 512 MB GDDR3 @ 1800 MHz (256-bit interface). 96 stream processors per GPU.

Could be wrong though! Only a few more days to go!
I'm so freaking excited for the next two months of CPU and GPU advances it's quite ridiculous. Between the AMD/ATI mega-release and anticipated nVidia response, plus Intel price cuts on the 22nd! I can't sleep at night! :bigggrin:
EDIT: Q6600 for $266 by Q3 according to this source but I don't know how reliable that is.
The only big revamp we will see is going to be with the top of the line Nvidia cards when ATI rolls out its new offering. Maybe a 8850 or a 8800 Ultra... No one really knows the true name.
