I have just upgraded from Norton 2006 to 2007, From upgrade CD,
I have not been able to complete a full Scan Due to the process Named (AppSvc32.exe) Which is 1 of the norton Processes , Using 90-100% of my CPU usage, I have been online Chat ,On Phone with Norton Customer(BendOver)Service:(, Tried all thier Fixes, Tried Forums In (PC Magazine) Found a forum for this Problem & tried every thing everyone has tried & still unable to complete Scan,I have to cntrl,Alt,Del to exit norton , as the exit button just sits there . I have noticed if I dont reboot machine AppSvc32.exe will still hang @100% Cpu usage Even with Norton off... I have uninstalled & reinstalled 3 times already & am Ready to put gun to my head on this , Been at it for about 3 weeks now ;(

PLEASE HELP !!!

Have you been to this symantec site yet, they appear to have a fix for this problem.
I understand that the process might take some time, and that you have to attend the pc during the process as you have to carry out several instructions.

Uninstall it and ask for a refund. Norton is not the lifesaver that it was back in Win95 and Win98 days. There are FREE alternatives that work just as well, without all the Symantec/Norton resource hogging garbage.

I've been running AVG free anti-virus for years now without problem. The ONLY Symantec product on my computers is Norton Ghost. I just got a laptop with McAfee bundled with it. It completely removed it from the computer and installed AVG.

Avast is another excellent, free anti-virus software.
