P4 3.0ghz Northwood question

edited April 2007 in Hardware
Hello, i just got a 3.0ghz Northwood from ebay and I don't have a heatsink for it. I'm wondering, will it be ok to run it with my P4 2.4 533fsb stock heatsink?

As long as that's a Socket 478 heatsink it should be no problem. Just monitor the CPU core temperature to make sure. Don't even think about overclocking with that heatsink.

it should be fine, just make sure you put thermal paste on it.

also, i wouldn't recommend OC'ing on a stock HSF, but if you arent, then dont even worry.
