What do you think of this combination? This is the best board I can get for the CPU where I live. Will this motherboard be able to take advantage of the technologies incorporated in this CPU? Thanks in advance.

Your motherboard choice is good. It should work very well with your selected CPU. One word of advice concerning the P5LD2: it is a very stable, good performance motherboard, but should not be used for high overclocking. If you will not overclock or will only moderately overclock, then the P5LD2 should serve you very well.

I previously owned a P5LD2 (not the P5LD2 Rev. 2.0). It was very, very easy to set up the computer and have everything working properly. The Asus motherboard drivers were excellent. It was also a decent overclocker, just not a high-end. For stability though, the P5LD2 is about as good as it gets.

Thanks a lot for your answer Leonardo. It answers really everything. I'm not a gamer so I'm not overclocking. I just had a doubt concerning what they were offering me. But, I'm more than relaxed now; as a matter of fact I'm happy. Thanks again. I don't visit often, but I've always found you guys knowledgeable, reliable and friendly. Godspeed.

While the 945 chipset in that mobo isn't the latest and greatest, it is what is being used in Core2Duo notebook computers. It should do a fine job for you.
