THERE IS A NEW CHANNEL AND NEW INFO FOR ICRONTIC IRC
//end edit
Forum guidelines apply (minus the cussing part). Specifically, I recommend reviewing guidelines 1, 2, 5, and 8 (i.e. rudeness, discrimination, legality, and debates) before joining. Doing something in the IRC channel can impact your status on the forum. I don't consider them to be two different "versions" of you. What you do in one will be reflected in the other.
I DON'T recommend joining the IRC chat until you've established yourself on the forum.
You MUST use the same nick (or version of it) on the IRC channel as you do on the forum. Impersonating another member is way out of bounds.
I have designated Thrax and jared as the leaders of the channel. Additionally, any Adjudicator that registers their name will be opped and have the same authority as on the forum. No one else gets opped.
I do this with some reluctance, so don't abuse it or test the boundaries. I won't have the slightest remorse closing it. I don't have time for this to be a headache right now.
For the uninitiated:
Go forth and lawlz.

/server irc.rizon.net
/j #icrontic
NOW GO!
When you fire up mIRC, connect to Rizon
/server irc.rizon.net
/j #icrontic
Should get you in
/nick Trogan
Noobs, nothing even going on in there....
My name is already in use.. so IC-Shorty will have to do
Happens everytime you look in the mirror.:D
Oh, And I couldn't connect to Icrontics chat until I changed the /j #icrontic to #icrontic.
So, I'm connected to Rizon server and got into the #icrontic chatroom.
Then when I type anything and hit enter it goes onto the chat window.
But I guess no one sees what I'm typing, because I get no answer.
Then another message comes up below it saying {Cannot send to channel}.
Sooo, Anybody know what the prob is?
I can double click on anyones name there and I can private chat in a separate window.
I was talking with CB that way.
But I can't post in the main chat room.
We'll try to keep it unmodded from now on unless necessary.
So far things are going smooth! Keebs only had to ban 4 people
Just a reminder. Please use you Icrontic/Short-Media name or a variant (as Keebs said).
Failure to use your IC/SM name will result in getting kicked from the channel and possibly banned.
If you have any comments/complaints/questions regarding IRC don't hesitate to PM Thraxy or myself.
Happy IRCin' doodz
To register, when you are on the Rizon network do the following:
/msg nickserv register PASSWORDHERE EMAILHERE
Then after you receive a confirm code in your e-mail:
/msg nickserv confirm YOURCODEHERE
/msg nickserv identify PASSWORDHERE
You should be all set up.
[me]* jared runs![/me]
cheers
Don't know about anyone else here, but one of my first experiences on the Internet was IRC (I pronounce it "erk"). EFNet, then Undernet, then DALnet. DALnet was fun as I opped in #mIRC for a while. Then I moved on to Christian-Chat.net. Went to college and irc pretty much fell by the wayside.
I remember spending hours upon hours writing scripts for mIRC. I used pIRCh, XIRCON and a few others on Windows and ircII and bX for Linux but never did much scripting for any client other than mIRC.
On Christian-Chat.net I wrote some IRC Services in PERL and since I had come from DALnet I became fairly familiar with DreamForge IRCd and then Bahamut IRCd for the IRC Services. Oh the days . . .
i agree, mr. filth i shall call you!
I hate you.
ROFL. There are some amazing things you can learn on an IRC channel.
