Would I be able to have an IDE drive and a SCSI drive on the same box?

I just bought the maxtor 160gig and was wondering if I would have to just say f*ck it to my SCSI drives or would I be able to run both IDE and SCSI?

Oh hell yes ! You get both. Some scsi controllers jack with the built in raid controllers on some boards but I have alwasy felt the best deal was some of each. Use scsi where you want speed and use ide for causal storage liek your mp3 collection and downlaods of bible music etc..

It works great with a combination of the two. On my main rig, i have archive storage on SATA, optical drives on PATA, and main storage on SCSI.

Youll have a hard time finding a set of SCSI drives to meet all your requirements. ie Latest optical drives, cheap archive storage, ultra high performance main storage.
