ABIT Windows flash

edited July 2003 in Hardware
being naturally paranoid, I am leery of the Abit flash utility (Windoze) until I hear otherwise.

I freak out during DOS flash attemps.

anyone with any experience with this?

I just used it three times last week, and it worked perfectly every time.

/me gives it two thumbs up!

I was a bit leery of it also, but, took a chance and tried it.

Morning_Wood: Just make sure you are overclocking your system first. This windows utility loves a system to be overclocked.

OK. I am KIDDING! Do not not not run this while your system is overclocked! I've used this for my Abit (NF7-S Rev2.0) and all worked fine. Just make sure you have all programs closed first and don't have any background processes or stuff like F@H running.

Load fail-safe defaults then reboot, then load optimized defaults and set your options.

no i know, it worked just fine. i didn't have to even load failsafe defaults, just enter bios and change it to what i wanted. i'm just saying, it DID give me a checksum error. kinda freaked me out at the time

ah, maybe i don't need to do it either... i think i just did and it worked... so i figured that's what i had to keep doing. but i think you're just, just need to set the options you want and that's it.
