Hello. I am looking for a new PSU that around 400w. I have looked around and have narrowed it down to either the Antec TruePower 430w (http://www.antec-inc.com/pro_details_powerSupply.php?ProdID=20430#), or the new Globalwin SuperSilent 420w (http://www.globalwin.com.tw/products/power/420w-p4.html). The GlobalWin having the ultra silent operation and the ability to control 3 case fans and adjust their speed according to temp. Thoese are the selling points to me. Which should I go for you think? My budget is up to £100 (approx $160). Any other PSU's that I should consider? All comments welcome.

My system specs: Abit KX333-RAID motherboard, AMD Athlon XP2100+ CPU (Palamino), 512MB Corsair XMS 3000 CAS2 RAM, IBM 120GB & 40GB hard disks attached to RAID sockets, DVD-ROM, CD-Writer attached to normal IDE sockets, GF Ti4400, SB Live 5.1, modem, NIC.

Thanks in advance.

The best PSes are made by PC Power & Cooling and Antec. There isn't really anything else out there that I'd consider. AMD has a bunch of approved manufacturers, but I would really stick with either the Antec or the PC Power & Cooling. I don't know if PC Power & Cooling does international shipping though. Check their website... www.pcpowercooling.com

I use the PC power and cooling 400w silencer model and its great all the voltage rails are very stable and its very quiet. I think it was $130 so not to bad.

I love my Antec True Power 430w. I have 5 hd's attached right now and the rails are right at spec. Ive only ever used Antec and Enermax PSU's.

I have the TruePower 430W and I haven't had a problem with it. In case you didn't know, the TruePower also has the ability to control 3 fans according to tempurature and also features a quite operation.

Thanks ppl. I had a look around and the Q-TEC brnad seems to pop up alot. They "seem" to do high power for cheap: 550w for around £30 ($49). Are these any good for OC'ing or they just good for stock speed applications?
