One last one. Its more of a closeup of the scsi rack things. The display part on the right is a built in caching scsi raid controller.

Wow nice catch all around. Those scsi racks look sooo fun, the tape library would be nice to play with a bit too.

Most are full. Some are missing a drive or two. Thats why they were so damn heavy. They are not state of the art or they wouldn't of been sitting there guys. These were full height 4gb drives. But with 12 racks and 8 per rack we have a hundred drives sitting here also and about half have a caching controller buiilt into one of the bays.

These things were sold by RARE and called Datapumps. Now they specialize in SANS mostly.

They replaced this stack with one rack of 73gb drives.

All the carriers that slide out the racks and stuff are Kingston and I'm gonna see if they can be upgraded to u160.

Holy crap, you are soo lucky at picking up good deals like this, well this is really more of a steal than a deal. I could use a 20" monitor though, hehe

You could make a lot of money if you ebay some of the racks, or use them to play with.

Wonder if the drives have any data on them :)

Were they using these before they put them up for grabs? I bet there's a few interesting things on there if they didn't wipe them. :o

I would be guessing here that the SCSI racks are at least 3 yrs old, and the tape drives and other equipment are 4yrs old or more?

Probably accurate, I know external optical backups were from the 1997-99 era when I was doing custom server and workstation quotes.

Good god this is old stuff they were gonna pay to have hailed off Dan. No its not new or state fo the art by any means.

The coolest tapes were the DLT's. One was a autolaoder library that was worth some serious bucks still as he can backup 200gb.

I just put an add in the trading post selling drives for 5 bucks a pop if thats a clue here guys.

Hey Tex, how much u want for a 20" monitor? My dad needs one, his eyes are kinda shot (he's 65) but can't afford to buy one. I have looked for some deals but I can't seem to find any at a good price.

Also, you have any iMacs to sell? I am A+ certified but haven't used an Apple since the Apple IIe days back in the 80's. I wouild love to have one to practice on just to learn how to use it and install software, etc.

Hope you can get back to me. Thanks :)

Sorry I didn't see this sooner bud. One of my partners in crime scarfed the Macs as I don't use them. Have no idea what he got but a couple were dual processor Power PC versions if that means squat. I actually have one or two older 20" monitors I would let go of but shipping and packing them well enough gets to be too expensive. I can buy used Dell 19/20 inch monitors at the local computer fleamarket for around a 100 bucks also so you might want to check the local computer classifieds. Shipping big monitors especially with original shipping boxes is a dicey deal at best.

    Cheers
