Okay,Im not the best at networking probs so please be patient and I really appreciate the help. I have 2 comps on a Netgear 4 port hub/Router and both comps use a Linksys 10/100 nic, well after a devastating crash on my raid board had too install XP Pro again. After installing the driver for nic card and tcp and network wiz alls fine get on web with both comps,as soon as I reboot Windows finds a network adapter 1394 connection 2! WTH?I uninstall and it comes back every boot!It wasnt there before my 200FSB clock on my XP2100 blowout. Any suggestions would be helpful.

Unless it is misdetecting a Fire Wire root hub on your mohter board, no ideas, then. IF you want to find out if this is so, some BIOSs have a way to turn off FireWire (IEEE1394) support on motherboards that have that feature. If you do not use it, you could possibly turn it off in the BIOS' Setup program(if you can in your motherboard's BIOS Setup) and then after rebooting remove the driver. Then restart.

WinXP natively supports networking over Firewire cables... it's not gonna hurt anything to install it, and the easiest way to get rid of it is to just let it install it...

Here is a screenshot of my connection screen, I have onboard LAN, Firewire and Firewire on my Audigy.

XP nativly supports Firewire, there is no problem with XP picking it up, unless of course your mobo doenst have firewire :)
