Is that my final answer?

I wanted to spend less than $50 on a stable 400W+ PSU with dual fans, having the inner fan on the bottom facing the HSF, just like the Antec True 430. It looks the like Antec True 430 is the only decent PSU that has that, but it's $70, $20 higher than my price range! Do I have any alternatives? It definitely has to be dual fan, with the second fan on the bottom there.

Thanks!

I thought some of those Powmax supplies had that.

But, the phrase "You get what you pay for" still holds, unfortunetly. :-/

Is the Tt any good? I kinda shun their products due to the Volcano series and Orb series of products.

I bought a TT ATX360W dual fan, silent power supply when one of my ps's smelled hot. It seems to run fine, but I don't have a lot of stuff on it.

Allied is on AMD's approved list, and I know someone with a few of their PSes and they seem decent. I think Newegg has a dual-fan 450w for $39.

Thanks, Geeky; I saw that PSU when you replied to my other thread, but the second fan is on the back instead of the bottom. I'm going to put the blowhole in the case there anyway, so the fan on that side of the PSU won't do much good.

I'm still a little wary of the Tt PSU...

I have a TT silent purepower 480, and it works just fine. 3 HD's, DVD, CDRW, ZIP, Floppy, GF4 4600, OC'ed 1.4 P3S. And all the rails stay close to perfect.

The 420 watt one is an auto-control fan PSU. The 480 comes with a fan bus that lets you control it.

Newegg has the 420 watt version for $49, and 480 for $62

Do you think the TT 420 would be suitable for my primary system: 9800 Pro and XP2500+ OC'd to 2.2... and do you think it would maintain stable voltages?

Oh yeah, huh? I forgot about that... sorry... (I'm 17 and my memory is this bad? Someone stop the aging process before I hurt someone  )

Hey Geeky, I appreciate the help! And the memory doesn't get any better as you age, so just take solace in the fact that you have an awesome car! ;)

To everyone else... thanks for the suggestions and the links, looks like I'll be giving Tt one more chance!

i actually ordered the same TT 420W psu last night from newegg as well. my antec smartpower 350W that i bought in april of this year has always been loud and the other day it started smelling like it was burning and now i'm lucky to get my system fully booted... seems like a pretty short life span for an antec psu... hopefully i'll get the TT psu tomorrow seeing as how i live in california.
