So I bought the Barton, not the Tbred. It's green but looking at the stepping I think that it's rather new. What do you think how high can it go? I haven't put it in my case yet.

AXDA2500DKV4D

AQXEA0325MPM

So, what do you guyz thing, is it good or should I sell it?
Oh, yea, I almost forgot it. i bought it the BOX version and I got the GlacialTech cooler with a cooper surface. Is this one better than my current Alpha or not? I presume that it isn't but I still wanna hear it from you ;)
thx

That's a rather new stepping (week 25/June). I haven't heard much variation between the newer steppings (about 2300mhz and 200fsb is the rule). I don't think there are any "better" steppings out there... and, as you know, each chip is slightly different.

As for the heatsink, I usually never use the stock hs/fan no matter how 'quality' they try to make it sound...

Not even close to better than your alpha. However, the heatsink they include with the Barton 2500s that I've seen (Copper base, thin aluminum fins, nickel plated) is a decent cooler. I modified the ones that came with my bartons to take 8-32 threaded screws, and put 60x25mm 40cfm 7k RPM Deltas on them, and they performed within 10*F or so of Thermalright SLK800s with Thermaltake SmartFan2s. They aren't outstanding by any stretch of the imagination, but they're by far and away the best retail coolers AMD has ever included.

i've seen those (mostly week 23) running 2.2Ghz @ stock voltage .before you sell ,see how it performs ;)
as for your questions - you're the only one that can answer them precisely by installing and testing .oh ,and reporting back ! ;)

    good Oc !

Can you write down the full stepping? After the KV4D part, there is a letter or a number. If you have a "Y" batch, they are really good. Also the last 4 digits in the top row tells you which number of the batch the cpu have. Any stepping with 0001 is the absolute best.

    This is a week 30 "Y" :
