    suckage = 0;
    switch = 1337;
    hub = suckage;

    if (hub == suckage) then {
    purchase switch;
    }

    Can I subsist on a hub for a week or two though?

    //edit: All 8+ port switches I see on newegg are $40+

    yeah you should be fine with a hub for a while....we usually end up using a switch and an 8port hub at LANs cause none of us have switches (we all have like the routers with the built in switches and a couple have stand alone hubs) and it works just fine.....you'll get better throughput with a switch but the hub will work

    Ah. I got a GigaFast Ethernet (GFE) for $20 AR a while back... Microcenter (www.microcenter.com) has it on special at the local store for $10 AR right now. At least I think it's AR.

    /me looks at the ad... Model EZ800-S is $9.99 after $30 MIR. It might be on their website too...

    Nah, that's ok, thanks though :) I'll just have the center order one through newegg.
