The whole point in Linux is diversity, choices and power, thats where there are different distros and different WMs, people have different tastes.

I totally agree, there needs to be a kind of leadership in the Linux Community.

I know and understand linux as much as I understand women; very little. Just too hard to work with, no time to work with it; and on top of that; it just doesn't give me what I need. I appreciate Linux, and even adore it. But as I stated above, it needs leadership to bring up forward.

With what Microsoft is coming out with now, buggy or not, people are not going to CARE the Linux is free or that it is Open Source. They see "new Features" and poop out the $300+ to buy it.

RWB, all I can say is that anyone that pays $300+ for windows is insane. 3 letters: O E M

$158 for the OEM WinXP Pro. And the only difference is that the OEM version doesn't have the pretty box and manual (and such a big loss it is, too  )

and osnews'd too I might add :D The amazing thing is the linux zealot crowd is all up in arms, like I'm wrong. they're way too hardcore, i mean i love linux and I want to see it succeed on the desktop, but it will never as long as these people are in charge.

The users have long been the primary restraining device for Linux far moreso than the learning curve Linux presents.

Paraphrased: They're a bunch of arrogant *******s. They want Linux to succeed, to crush the mighty Microsoft, but without tackling the pressing issues that are holding it back from really making a break for it.
