WTB: Laptop

Can anyone recommend a laptop for about £800. This is for a friend who is a sports journalist / reporter. My initial thoughts are for a centrino 1.3 but at this price there are only a few options. Acer 290CXI possibly but I can't find any reviews. What's your thoughts on the subject. Celoron vs XP laptops etc
