Has anyone head or found a solid review of the latest driver from ATI. After all the trouble people had with the 3.8 Id like to know are they safe to install, what are some of the results youve noticed etc .....

They're buggy. At least in the game I tried them in (Need For Speed Hot Pursuit 2) they screwed up all the text in the game. I uninstalled the game, reinstalled, re-patched, and that did nothing. I installed the 3.7s over the 3.9s (but I left the 3.9 control panel) and the problem vanished.
Personally, I have not installed them yet. The Catalyst 3.7 driver series works fine for me right now on both the Radeon 9700 Pro and the Radeon 9800 Pro that I own.
I have no compelling reason to update my display drivers as of yet.

I thought the performance to be lacluster. I dropped in scores with the 3.9's from the 3.7's. Back to work ATI!

I have that game, I'll give it a try. I did however give my brother a game of Age of Mythology tonight, and the text was a bit dodgy on that too. Wierd.

Spinner, if you try it... what it is is on the race loading screen, and in-race, all the text is fuggered. the menu text is fine, tho.
WuGgaRoO had this to say i havnt updated my drivers in god knows how long...if its not broke then dont fix it...right now its running smoothly...so i dont need to fix
I've been using them in max payne 2, and I upgraded about half way throught the game from the 3.7's to the 3.9's and didn't notice any real world difference.
I just got a new system, with my 9800 XT, loaded the 2.9s, haven't had a problem, but nothing to compare them to since I have never owned an ATI card before.
This is not an ad for ABS nor do I work there, but man, they are awesome. they worked with me on the system for 3 days to get exactly what i wanted. i called up and changed it 4 times.
Right out of the box, set it up, and off I went. Man is it fast. I couldn't say enough about the system and ABS..both are top notch.
My brother installed them and has been using them for over a week and we just about have the same setup. I installed the 3.9 and things look better....I play the fock outta ut2k3 and all I can really say is the picture quality looks better with no noticable impact on my fps....i still get anywhere from 80-200+ fps depending on what/where in a map I am. I like the 3.9 from a FPS gamer
Two weeks now, with no problems, no lock ups. I use the system to play Shadow bane, the graphics are nothing compared to my old GeForce3 card, but it's just the drivers..any of them, that have a problem with Shadow Bane. I would love for them to address this, but I can live with it in their current state.
