Good FTP Program?

I need a program that allows to change permissions of files on the server?

like in the instructions i have.... "Change the permissions on config.php to be writeable by all (666 or -rw-rw-rw- within your FTP Client)"

What program allows this? I just downloaded the 1 whole big day trial of CuteFTP, but I need something more tangeble, I don't think it even allows for the permissions thing?

    CuteFTP will change permissions. Try WS_FTP, which has a free version.

    CuteFTP will allow you to CHmod. Good FTP program too.

    Cute is nice . . . really nice. But it isn't free (unless that's changed since I stopped using it) so I went to SmartFTP

    I still use Leech FTP even though it was last updated in April of 1999. Fast and Easy and Free.

    Gnome, I spend lots of money(which is why I am dead broke all the time) trying to stay legal. It sucks, but it's what I must do.

    A bit of a hint:
    Try to buy software as a student, then upgrade to the pro versions. IE I just bought the Student Version of Macromedia Studio MX 2004, I will upgrade it when I have the money and save around $400 to $500. Adobe is also very cool about this, ask them politely, and maybe give them a good reason, for an upgrade. I think my lecturer told us they usually give us Fullsail students free upgrades or at least dirt cheap ones.

    Ohh yeah, don't talk to the salesmen either... see about talking to someone who matters. :)
