IC8 Problem

The CPU on IC8 gave up the ghost today. I have a spare 1.4 gig t-bird laying around somewhere, I can put it in when I find it. I'll keep you guys posted, Adam

    Let us know ASAP. Do we have any spare CPUs lying around the parts bin in case Adam can't locate his?

    I don't know, It just stop working. I was in the spare room to check on it and when I turned on the moniter nothing. just a black screen. So I hit the rest button, still nothing. So, I popped the side cover off and started check everything out. I swapped the stick of ram, check the heatsink, swapped the video card, and finally I put a 700 duron I had laying there in it a presto-chango the boot up fine. So I ran the sisoft sandra burn-in wizard program thingy the see if anything else took a crap, and It ran fine for the 8 hours, I ran it. Other then that I can't tell you anything else. It looks fine, I don't see any burn marks and such.

    Oh noes!!! What was the original CPU?

    Was it the 1.2Ghz Athlon or did you change it for something else?

    red has a 1700+.

    It was 1.2 athlon first, then I traded it for a xp1700 about 8 or 9 months ago. I found the 1.4 I'll get it installed and folding strait away. I'll but a faster processor for IC8 if someone wants to make me a deal on it.

    I have a 1600 or 1700 around here.
    Give me a few more days to get my wifes box running and then I'll know what is left over. I also have a 1.33 or a 1.4 here too.
