Well, THAT'S not gonna be POSTing for a while...
Gravity broke the G4 I had a while back (the power supply fell on it. It was not my fault. Was not was not was not. ). Broke a small 4-position 22 ohm resistor array on the back of the chipset.
So I pulled a replacement resistor off this old Soyo board I had sitting around. Broke the Apple board beyond repair trying to solder the new resistor onto it. So now I had two dead boards. I figured that since the Soyo was now dead anyhow, I might as well take the northbridge and southbridge off it and use them as keychains...
Now, the nb and sb are bga packages, and the only way to get them off is to melt all the solder balls on the underside of the chip at once... There are only two ways I can think of to do this; a heat gun or a blowtorch. I didn't have a heat gun sitting around, so I took my blowtorch to the back of the board instead...

Sorry for yer losses chief!
I wouldn't have yelled that if we were in a theater. lol
erm... I went to the hardware store a few months back and bought one...
But of course, we are a state of blowtorch frenzy-heads.
[SPEAK-TO=Geeky1] Burning stuff is awesome, especially once you forget the losses...[/SPEAK-TO]
Blow Torch
And I didn't realize they still make something similar--- lol
And here's the propane torch... BTW, I've used all versions and acetylene torch.
