Just take a look at the reviews from newegg and see what people have gotten the fsb to. I'd suppose either set of ram would do just fine for an amd system so just go with the cheapest.
Don't get Geil!
I know they are both good and as for the geil I have it and its sold and this is replacement ram. It ran just fine but no good for Ocing
Corsair was faster stock, and clocked higher on almost all the tests I found.
Thrax, he's comparing KHX 3500 vs XMS 3200
You're kidding? Wow, that Corsair must be really kickass stuff to actually be better than Kingston... I've got 2 256 MB PC2100 Kingston "Value RAM" (CL2.5) chips that run at PC2700 speed at CL2 timings 6-2-2-2...
Ya my pc3700 KHX is utter crap. Won't do 251 fsb @ 2.8vdimm and 8-4-4-3.
But Genome I doubt you will be reaching the top speed of either of these ram modules without any mods so just buy the cheapest one.
What mobo do you use? You should be able to (if you wanted to) just see how far the Processor will go independent of the RAM if you've got an NF2 board - you can run the FSB async.
BTW Gnome
Did you ever sell all the XMS you had before?
Personally, I'm more pleased with my Kingston PC3200 because I had 4 (FOUR) bad sticks of Corsair PC3200 before I finally gave up on shipping it back for replacements so NewEgg let me ship it back for a refund and get the Kingston. No problems w/ my Kingston.
Stuff happens, though. I think I just got RAM from a bad batch on the Corsair. Also, I doubt most people test their RAM to verify it works at its rated speed so there are probably a lot of bad sticks floating around (of all memory brands) that people don't even know of.
Since the Kingston is cheaper, I'd get the Kingston no question.
WOW look at those suckers!
However winbond modules are currently out of stock at newegg
Buffalo PC3200 with Winbond CH5 $85 each shipped if you buy 2. (thats $170) Not bad for sticks that does the same as BH5 but at 5,3,2,2 instead of 5,2,2,2.
I run 1 stick of Corsair 3500 (512mb), and two sticks of Corsair 3200 (256mb) in another NF7-S. That one chugs along at 225 at 2/2/2.
