I'm finding it difficult to mount the ultra 120 extreme on the gigabyte p35dq6 - the copper on the back of the mobo is making it very difficult to get a flat mount. Am I doing something wrong?

meh. I took it off, now it almost fits right....but what to do about the chipset cooling mounting....

Imagery would be helpful. Not necessarily of your hardware troubles, but at least of the board and cooler in question.

If I'm not mistaken that copper dealie on the back of the mobo was also giving mounting problems with the previous p965DQ6 boards too. But like Leo said, pics would help a bunch. As for the nb cooling, will one of the Thermalright nb coolers work like the HR-05 SLI?

Took it off, found the little nuts in the mobo box, and all is well :)

Glad to hear it, shwaip. BTW, how was the finish on the base of your U-120?

it was pretty smooth. There were small ridges in it, but since that's pretty typical of most sinks (of course, not all) that I've had in the past, i didn't worry too much about it.

So, you're saying you had the cajones to get it done right! Good for you.

Seriously, that is a nice, clean setup.
