updating problem :(

edited July 2007 in Science & Tech
hello everybody....

I'm here to ask something about my pc.... I have some problem with the updating or better: a week ago I got a message that there are new updates for Microsoft Office Professional Edition 2003....than i clicked ok to instal the updates...few seconds later I got an alert that it isn't possible to instal them because there isn't an available network resource ... (I didn't get the meaning of this :( ) ... now every time I turn on my pc I get the same message to install the updates...this makes slow my pc and sometimes it gets block...i don't know what to do...should I uninstal something?

I hope you understood my problem and you'll answer me :) thanks in advance...

The "message" you received alerting you to available updates: was that a message in the taskbar on the lower right of your desktop, or was it an email message. If it was an email message, it was bait for malware.

At the beginning there was always a yellow "figure" (that shows that there are some updates) in the taskbar on the lower right of the desktop but despite that there was another "window" (that I attached so you can see it) that still I get when I turn on my pc.

P.S. Now that yellow figure isn't there.

    Thanks for your answer.

I would suggest manually going to MS's site and just downloading any of the newest updates and installing them that way.

Don't do the rapid way. Download the update manually and it will download an exe that you run that applies the update.

You need to put in your Office CD.

^^ What he said. You need your original office install discs to install updates.
