Blank Pop-Ups, HJT logfile

edited August 2007 in Spyware & Virus Removal
Hi- I've been having blank, IE pop-ups coming up while using Firefox for about a week. Most of them are blank, but sometimes they have a random website. Can someone please take a look at my HJT file and see if theres anything in there i can change to fix this?

If not, any suggestions?

Thanks a lot!

    Hi mk7upyrz,

    And wellcome to icrontic :D

    First rename hijackthis to Scanner.

    Second:
Please Download ComboFix from Here or Here to your Desktop.
    • Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
    • When finished, it shall produce a log for you. Post that log and a HiJackthis log in your next reply
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while its running. That may cause it to stall

Hi Nuppi - thanks for the response. I don't know what you meant by rename hijackthis to scanner, but I think you meant to rename the .exe file? So i did that, renamed hijackthis.exe to scanner.exe and ran it and have the logfile here. ComboFix file is attached. For some reason the HJT wouldn't attach

    Thanks!

    Hi Nuppi,

I don't know what those files are. They were all created about a week ago, when the pop-ups started. I ran AVG anti-spyware like you said, but the first time i forgot to uncheck the "Only if threats were found" box. It found about 270 files it thought were a problem. When i pressed Quarantine All it quarantined about 2/3's of them, then the rest it still deleted. There was no report saved, however, and I couldn't click the Save Report As button - It was greyed out. I have a screenshot of files it said were quarantined, but the file was too big to attach. Here is the HJT log.

    Thanks!

    Hi -
I can't find that file in that directory, so maybe it did delete?
A windows search for that file comes up with one result located at C:\QooBox\Quarantine\C\WINDOWS\System32

Is QooBox a good thing? Hmm... the name of the file is oawjnxfq.dll.vir

    Anyway, I scanned C:\QooBox\Quarantine\C\WINDOWS\System32/oawjnxfq.dll.vir

    Hi,

    Glad to hear :D

I just get information that there are fault in AVG antispyware.
    Under Reports:

        * Select Automatically generate report after every scan
and uncheck Only if threats were found.

    It should be :
    Under Reports:

        * Uncheck Automatically generate report after every scan
and uncheck Only if threats were found.
