Japan bids for next internet

Japan's Communications Minister Yoshihide Suga has announced that the Japanese government wants to play a strong and decisive role in the next iteration of the internet. Hoping for a ¥7.8b slice of the fiscal 2008 budget to begin, Suga hopes to have the infrastructure in place by 2020.
