USB Keyboard Troubles

edited August 2007 in Hardware
I'm using a USB keyboard and even after enabling keyboard support in the BIOS, the keyboard does not work until the operating starts up (I need to use it for the boot menu since I dual boot).

The keyboard also has a few keys (namely the l, ;, ', and SHIFT keys. that make more noise than the others. They click a bit when you press them, especially toward the top. It's not that bad but it's a bit weird.

This is the keyboard by the way:

Well the thing about the noise with the keys isn't really an issue, I'm just not used to pressing so lightly on the keys. However, getting the keyboard to work before the OS boots up is an issue. Any ideas? As I said I have already enabled USB keyboard support in the BIOS?

    Look for options entitled:

    "Legacy USB Support"
    "Legacy USB"
    "USB Keyboard Support"
    "USB Keyboard"
    "USB EHCI Handoff"

Make sure they're enabled. It's a BIOS problem.
