    Hi all,
I have the Asus p4c800e-deluxe MB with the Intel 3.4 Processor. Ram is 2 Corsair 512mb (1gig total) ddr 400, graphics card is the nvidia5950 with 256mb of onboard ram. I had a similar experiance and am hoping someone in this forum can help me pin point the problem before I kill another one lol.
The system has been running smooth as ice no problems for about a month. One day -no boot. first thing I did was suspect the graphics card since evrything else seemed to be starting up. then I realized that I did not hear the POST beeps. So I took out the ram. 3 beeps. (that tells you that you have no ram, lol) Thanks! Anyway I checked all the wiring resest the ram and even reset the processor, no beeps or display. A couple of on and offs of the power supply and it starts up no problem. So I put it back together plug evrything back in (usb *&%# devices). No boot again so I am perplexed, however now the power supply wont power on. hmm, theres the problem.

I replace my power supply (ASPIRE ATX-AS520W) with a new one from Thermaltake 550 ATX machine powers up first try and runs, fantastic I think. wrong second powerup fails. Nothing was shorted as far as i could tell, and as youll read on I dont think anything was. At this point I took my processor and ram to a friends house where I put them into a different machine and they worked fine. So the ONLY thing left was the Motherboard. I went and purchased a new one. It was a gigabyte blah blah blah 800fsb 99bucks at comp usa. I returned my MB to newegg for replacement/repair. I ran the gigabyte for about a week. No problem. Then on a reboot MB is shot again. no display no beeps. I did reset CMOS by removing the battery on both MB.
I am a hardcore Quake player and do stress this PC during gameplay. I have a 6 inch fan inside the front of the case a 4 in the back, a fan comes with the 3.4 processor as well as the graphics card and the PS has two fans on it which i keep cranked. The only potential flaw i see is no heat sinks on the ram. Any one have any thoughts on this? I should be getting my repaired/replaced MB back from newegg soon and REALLY dont want to fry this thing again...
