windows is lagging

Hi, I have noticed the very first time I booted up this c2d e4300 it was blazing fast, skips right through the welcome screen and boots whatever I have at startup before Iget a chance to connect to the internet. But now I have noticed it slowed down and performance is not that great.

I am noticing lag as I type right now, and this is also shown in Counterstrike. I did do a little OCing, from 1.8 to 2.1 with stock cooling. I had ran this setup fine, without experiencing this lag but I noticed it more frequently now.


I am having some virus problems so could that be the reason for:

- stalling on the welcome screen, well after the bootup sound has played,
and this windows lag I am experiencing?

    Your computer is most likely infected with virus, spyware, or both. Have an anti-virus program running? Anti-spyware?

    Please don't open two threads on the same topic. It's very discourteous to those who would VOLUNTEER their efforts to hop and around and waste time, deciding which thread is the 'real one.'

    I'll close this thread for now, but not delete it. If it turns out the problem is not corrupted software from slime infections, then we can reopen this thread at your request.

    Hope your problem gets solved. I'm sure we can fix it.
