Start > All programs > flash

edited September 2007 in Science & Tech
well this is bugging me, i'm kinda a perfectionist (except in spelling) and well when i got start > all programs and then try and right click, the start menu just flashes.

I'm not sure if its a virus ro what, no idea, does anybody know how i can fix it please?

Does left clicking the Start button open it up like normal?

    yup indeed.

I mean i left click start, goto all programs, and then when i try and right click something on my all programs list (say to arrange the list) it just flashes at me. kinda annoying.

Sorry, I've no clue. Someone more knowledgeable than me needs to pop in.

Have you checked your mouse configuration to see if right click has been changed to mean something else?

well no, but right lcicking anywhere else brings up the usual menu, copy, cut, paste, etc.

The all programs list is the only exception; it doesn't seem to work at all there, as i said, just quickly flashes, then disappears. Also just noticed; when it "flashes", it glimpses the right side of the start menu, where it says "control panel", "neetwork connections" etc, when start menu is set to XP standard.

    If that makes sense :S

Mine does the same thing. I think it's normal. You're trying to right click on something that isn't there. I assume you want to rearrange your program order. You can do this by dragging and dropping to the location you desire.

Or right click on an actual folder and select "sort by name." Mine does the same in empty space; no right click menu is displayed.
