Network adapters all have errors

edited September 2007 in Science & Tech
Hey everyone. I'm a n00b here. So please forgive me for any dumb questions/stupid first mistakes I make. :D Recently I was removing spyware, adware and tons of viruses of someones computer. This is how I did it:

-Instantly got a Blue Screen of Death error on start up. Stupid me didn't boot in safe mode.

-I went the route of pulling the harddrive and hooking it up to my PC using a USB to IDE cable.

-This worked like a charm and removed 200+ viruses, spyware and adware.

-Upon reinstallation and restart. The network adapters such as built in Ethernet (Realtek RTL8139) and Wireless (Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG) all have errors.

-I went to the appropriate vendors downloaded the newest updates. Uninstalled drivers then reinstalled with newest updates. No luck.

Any help on how to solve this problem would be great! I feel so lost at this point. TIA!

Can you find the drivers set for the computer from the manufacturer's web site? You should be able to download the specific drivers for the devices from that site, assuming these network devices were integral to the computer, and not add-ons. I'm assuming this computer is a laptop, correct?

Charm. Maybe not. It also apparently removed software/drivers belonging to the networking devices. That's common - anti-malware scanners misinterpreting networking hardware.

That is correct. It is a laptop. I am currently installing the driver set from the manufacturer's website. Will update shortly.

Would you please be more specific about "errors."
