ISA... remember those...

Well I have a client who needs two as recent as possible mobos.. with those dreaded slots. Why??

Have interface cards for "pick & place" machines used for PCB assembly :)

So are there any boards out there still with ISA slots?? :)

My searches come up empty :(

The KT7 had ISA slots.... Some did and some didn't... That's probably the most "modern" mobo you'll find with ISA slots..

here is a link to a pdf with the specs etc.

It appears to be the same one as you had just found.

    Soyo K7VTA-Pro

It supports a pretty decent amount of stuff, just no DDR.

Oh, something I forgot to mention...

How about an industrial backplane PC?

If you want to go Intel, there is the Soyo 7VBA133U, which is a P3 tualatin board also.

The Soyo board McBain posted will take up to a Tbred 2600/266 proc, just checked it. The Soyo P3 board I posted has 2 isa slots.

The KT7As have one. As far as I know, they're the best of the bunch with that technology.

Thanks for all the suggestions :)

Im gonna talk to him later on and see what we can put together. He is paranoid that one of his two rigs is failing (I've checked and it's fine at the moment).

The manufacturer of the PnP isn't going to PCI yet, so he doesn't want to risk having a PC down .. ergo having his manufacturing down. I can understand the worry :)

Can you use any of this?

    http://www.softwareandstuff.com/hdwmotherboard.html

They ship international if over $1000. If too much maybe we can buy it and ship it to you if customs allows it.

 Wow.. now that's a link!

    Thanks EQ!

Im in the US in January for the big LAN game we are having, so I could bring something back with me (Il have to check with Customs but I can't see it being a major problem).

Prices are good, hell of alot cheaper than the UK.

Oh..., if you gonna be here you can probably find better deals on ebay.

Did you see this one? hehe $30 w/CPU, HSF and 2 ISA's hahaha

If these rigs are gonna drive production line machines, you don't need lots of MHz, am I right?

They just need to be reliable :)

They are just controller cards for the software. As far as I know, they don't need to be high-spec. I've got a quick visit from him today, so I can sort some ideas out with him.

Remember Shorty, the stuff that you are taking back with you are "used computer parts given to you by a friend. They have no real market value any more".
There is still a lot of P2 stuff running industrial applications.

I have been looking, but can't find it. There is a riser card to allow use of ISA cards in PCI slots, at least there used to be......

I like my Asus P2B-B. I've been thinking about getting a P2B-DS and running dual Tualatin 1.4's, but I have to liquidate all these pieces of Dell Precision 410 I have lying around. So far, I've got a case, mobo, PSU, and two 5.25" drive trays. Missing are two Dell-style Slot1 HSRM, a rear fan bracket, a hard disk bracket, and a floppy drive bracket. It has one ISA slot, in case you're interested.

Drasnor: I upgraded a customer's old P2B-DS based system with 2xtulatin 1.33s and the thing just flies. It's worth the upgrade.

We had a quick meet and greet yesterday afternoon and he does want me to progress on with finding some "backup" parts :)

Thanks for all the suggestions and ideas. His budget is tight, business is slack around here at the moment, so the industrial "ISA specials" are a no-no. I've got links and ideas now, so I have something to work with :)

MGK, I may well take you up on that offer brudda! :D

On a sidenote, he has friends who own other businesses and he knows my skills, so he is putting in a "good word" with a few of them.. to help me get some work. Unless there is a miracle, my current employer is going to go under after xmas, so I could get a job elsewhere if I can do this :)

Holy crap batman! Trinity will have you playin' flat butler unless you bust a groove dude!

You want me to mail it to you bro? PM me with an address or I can send it to the LAN gig with someone unless I bring it myself.

Im cool my man, have no fear.. I have my contacts and have done my usual networking ;) (literally ;D)

I helped this guy network his PC's together and install his Cisco ISDN router.. and he knows my history with my current employer. Im good my friend :)

Hang onto it for the LAN, then you can give me a spin on the back of that monster!

Cool. Not real sure if I actually can make it, but if it's 'white' outside I'll be on '4 wheels' bro! The offer stands, just let me know.
