Coming to you straight out of <s>Sunnyvale</s> the <strong>EVIL RUMORPLEX</strong> comes word of Phenom pricing. The three models outed (2.2, 2.3 and 2.4GHz) clock in at less than $300 each.

I, for one, am pleased AMD decided not to go the Athlon 64 route and charge $11TYb USD per CPU. Thank you, Intel.

AMD certainly won't sell many if they aren't priced low. Sure, there's a dedicated cadre of AMD fanboys who would pay high prices, just like the Dell Dudes did with the P4 Netburst junk a few years ago, but nostalgia doesn't go very far these days when excellent CPUs are available from Intel for very good prices. Things are very different now from three years ago. Overall, I think the consumer and business buyers as a whole are much more sophisticated.

I'm sorry, I must be having a lapse in competence and/or eyesight- I can't read clearly what the author posted (even magnified) and I certainly can't find a thing on Phenom pricing at the referenced link at IT4Profit.com.
