edited November 2007 in Hardware
Today when i got home my pc refuse to power up again. I think it's my power supply that is dead, but i'm not sure. I see the power light on the motherboard, if that matters or not. I'm also the type of person that almost never turn off their pc.

Asus P4P800-E Deluxe

Some of this will seem obvious, so just smile if you've already done it:

-remove the power cable from the back of the computer PSU
-pull off all power and signal cables and reattach them
-double check all expansion/video cards for proper seating (remove and reinstall)

    -remove RAM and reseat it
-if more than one stick of RAM, try booting with one stick at a time
-reset the CMOS jumper before attempting boot after removing cards and RAM

I've seen electrical shorts before develop with cables or cards that loosen due to vibration or the computer being moved.

I have a hunch though, that you are correct about the PSU. It is possible for it to still supply enough power for the power LED to light up but not enough power to spin the fans.

I pulled the plug and everything, and after that the power supply worked for 1sec or 2 then stoped again.
