Need Cash....

I need money right now and the PC I built last year is sitting in my room collecting dust so I may as well sell it. It has an AMD Venice 3500+ with and an aftermarket Zalman AlCu fan. It also has a WD 250 GB Caviar and an ATI Radeon X850XT with a NEC DVD writer, some cheap modem and tv tuner and an Asus A8N-E motherboard. It has 1 GB of Patriot Signature series RAM with heat spreaders and I don't remember specs on the power supply, but I'm pretty sure it's 450W-500W and it is after-market (didn't come with the case). So you can see it's all fairly good stuff but slightly old. The only reason I don't use it is because any HDD I put in it messes up. The case uses clips to keep the hard drive in place instead of the typical screws which leads to vibrations of the hard drive ruining it(I'm assuming this is what it is since I've had 2 WDs fail on me and nothing else). You could fix it fairly easily by breaking one of the clips off and using a screw instead, but I just don't have the time to mess with this stuff anymore since I'm living alone and need to do other stuff. Anyway, I'm putting it up for $800 with a 17'' 6 ms monitor and logitech speakers (2 sats and 1 sub). A nice media microsoft keyboard and a cheapo wireless mouse along with a linsys signal booster will also be included. I'll throw in an extra cooling fan for the case and a Sansa MP3 player that can be used as a very expensive 2 GB flash drive since the screen is broken.

So for $800.00 plus shipping you get:

1 17'' 6 ms Monitor (2 dead pixels on the right edge of the screen)
1 Asus A8N-E Mobo
1 250GB WD Caviar
1 Zalman AlCu Cooler (Yes, I used arctic silver)
1 GB Patriot Signature Series (the one with blue heat spreaders)
1 ATI(AMD?) Radeon X850XT
1 NEC DVD writer (don't remember speeds, but I think it's as fast as DVDs can be burned...)
2 Logitec Satellite Speakers
1 Logitec Subwoofer
1 Microsoft media keyboard
1 Generic brand wireless mouse
1 Linksys signal booster (a/b/g)
1 450W-500W Thermaltake PSU
1 Extra case fan not in the case yet
2 Case fan installed in the case already
1 Cheap tv-tuner
1 Cheap modem
1 Floppy Drive (I don't know why I bought it but I never used it... It does work though...)
1 Sansa 2 GB with a broken screen (I use it as a flash drive now... a really, really expensive flash drive...)
and...
if you want to pay the extra shipping, I'll include my HP K80xi MF machine which is still fully functional and in flawless condition but I got a new printer so I don't use it.

This money goes towards a year's worth of groceries... most of it anyway...

I'll put it on ebay eventually if no one wants it here.

Edit: I'll include and XP Home cd if you need it...

Do you have a Craigslist for your town? It might be easier to sell a complete system on Craigslist than here. You know how picky all your friends at Icrontic are.

I hope your sale goes well!

No, there isn't a craigslist for Pittsburgh but then whenever I go to the city search on craigslist it gives me random errors so can someone double check me? I really would rather not sell seperate parts unless there's a buyer for every single part because like I said, I just don't have the time to mess with this PC anymore. If you guys want to buy just a few parts, name them and I will gladly separate them if the total comes out to $800 or more...

Yes, I looked again after my post and I did find it, so I posted. Notice I added stuff that I forgot to put on this thread, so if you guys want it let me know.

Lol, I was talking about the whole system. I don't think the cooler and mem were worth $800 when they first came out... Anyway sorry I couldn't get this here sooner, but I had school so here:

I talked to my mom and told her people would buy it if I sold each part separately to which she replied "What's the problem with that? Just sell the tower and keep the monitor." So I explained what I meant by 'part' and she said she doesn't want to do that... I really can't sell it part for part. So even if theres a buyer for every single part I really can't. If your price is really good, I'll cry but I can't do anything sry. But you can buy each 'part' separately if your definition of 'part' is the same as my mom's.

Just a question, is all this actually worth $800? I haven't really looked at the parts for a year or two and don't know what a general price would be for this system...

THe system is worth about 40% of what the parts can be bought for new.

$800 would get someone a long ways on a nice core2duo setup.

I don't know. If $300 is my max then I'm better off keeping my it I think.

Your max is whatever someone will pay for it - the complete computer or parts sold separately. You never know what you might get on Craigslist. Craigslist buyers (at least with computers) tend to be a bit less sophisticated and knowledgeable than tech forums users. I've had buyers pay me just slightly less for parts than they could have paid at CompUSA for on-sale items - new, retail.

u rather sell it now when the price is good, and use the money for something else, else the technology products gets older day by day, and the value decrease expentantially
