I recieved a copy (from Microsoft) of Office Enterprise 2007 today and when I try to install it, it tells me that the setup file is corrupted. Is the disk bad?

I have Office 2000 ( a dubious copy) installed at the moment. Should I uninstall this?

Thanks!

Uninstalling the "dubious" Office copy first would be a logical first step. Corrupt files on a factory CD is possible but is highly unlikely. If that in fact proves to be the situation, Microsoft will exchange the CD for you.

Check your optical drive is okay. Also, try copying the files to your hard disk first.

Hehe. It seems nine times out of ten the optical drive is bad when something like that happens. In the last year, at home, I've replaced 4 optical drives. At work, I have no idea how many.

I just set the program up on my desktop that is not running Vista. All seems to work fine and the Office Enterprise installled.

OK. I finally got the software to install, but Vista still wants to virus check every file I open. Free me from the Vista chains!!

Temporarily replace with another drive. Heh.
