FYI, my main problem is a pop-up
keeps coming up saying I have a
Win32/Qoologic trojan in my system
and keeps asking me to hit the 'OK'
button to download an Anti-Spyware
program.

It happens everytime I access my
hard disk (C Drive) or everytime IE
loads.... Very annoying....

Step 1

Open HijackThis and click Do system scan only.

[SIZE=-1] When the scan is complete, check the following entries:[/SIZE]

Close web browsers and click Fix checked.


Step 2

Please remove this entry from Add/Remove Programs in the Control Panel (if present):

Delete this file using Windows Explorer:

C:\WINDOWS\oggview32.dll

and this folder:

C:\Program Files\Instant buzz


Step 3

Download latest version of Ad-Aware ( 7.0.2.5 )

http://www.lavasoft.com/products/ad_aware_free.php


Installing Ad-Aware 2007

• Double-click aaw2007.exe to start the installation
• Click Next
• Select I accept the license agreement, then Next
• Enter Full Name and Organization, or leave blank
• Select Anyone who uses this computer, then Next
• Select Standard Installation and click Next
• Click Next, and Next again
• Click Finish and Ad-Aware 2007 will open.

The first time you run Ad-Aware 2007, you will be asked for a serial number. Simply press Cancel and continue with the instructions.


Updating

• On the main screen, click Update
• Follow the instructions and apply/accept all the new updates.
• Check for Updates again until you are told the definition files are up to date

Scanning

• Click Scan Now
• Select Full Scan
• Select Scan to begin scanning

Scan Results

If anything is found, do the following...

• Select Critical Objects tab
  • Right-click in the Window choose Select All Objects
  • Click Quarantine
• Select Privacy Objects tab
  • Right-click in the Window choose Select All Objects
  • Click Remove
• When done, click Finish and close Ad-Aware 2007

Reboot the computer!

Step 4

Post a fresh HijackThis log.
