under pressure

I have an HP pavilion DV4000 Laptop that I bought a couple of years ago. About a yaer ago it started locking up on me. The screen was still there, the apps were still there, everything just froze. If I put the slightest pressure on it just left of the touchpad it would work again. Then I had to squeeze the same spot. Then it became more complex...my wallet under the right front corner and push down on the left corner.
Yes I know that I was being stupid.
Now no matter how much pushing squeezing or flexing I do it will barely work.
I've removed the hard drive and the ram - not it. I can't quite get the rest of the case off to look at the mobo. I can get the front and the sides loos but not the back (by the hinges)

Any help or thoughts would be appreciated.

That sounds quite serious, you need to take it to the seller.

David, have you searched online for the "service" manual? Usually, the service manual, as opposed to the user manual can will have very clear instructions on how to disassemble the laptop.
    take it to the seller
Not much of an advantage when the computer is "about two years old."
