I'm reviving this thread as we are now closer to the LAN. Are the 5 guys who mentioned they wanted to play still up for it? Let me know. We can't make a tee time yet, but come mid-may we can.

We also have rooms for some more people. A 4 vs 4 scramble would be best with back to back tee times. So post here if you want to play.

Also. I dont know how many of you have played before, but there is an attire for golf. Usually a polo shirt and khaki shorts/pants or plaid shorts etc. Also golf shoes are desired, but sneakers can work. You will need your own golf balls. If you are halfway decent 12 should be plenty, although 18-24 would be fine. Don't forget tees, golf glove etc.

I will be bringing my old set of clubs for someone to use, I see shwaip mentioned he would most likely need clubs, since he is flying. Let us know.

    FORE!

I'd still like to play, but I'm not sure if I'm actually going to be there by Friday morning. I still have to talk to Sharky about how much work he's planning to miss.

I can probably scrounge a set or even 2 of clubs...this will limit the amount of other stuff (read loaner computers) that I can bring.

If TT/Q or FC comes through this way...maybe we could get an extra set in somewhere :)

I have never golfed before but it's something that I've always wanted to try. What would the costs be for balls, etc and/or would people be willing to play with someone who has never played before and therefore is probably pretty bad at it...

Joe, golf balls run from $8 for 12 to $14 per ball. You dont need a glove, but ur hand will be sore most likely without. Tees are cheap, like $5 for 50. I would highly recommend at least going to a driving range with someone who has clubs first. Hitting the ball might look easy, but its not.

As far as playing with us, I have no problems with it at all.

    16 to 800 dollars...depending on the course.

Honestly I am sure we will find a place that is sub 50 for 18 holes and a cart.

Q's definition of nice balls kinda scares me ;)

We will find a nice balance between cost and quality of course.

I'll let you know soon, FC.

I MIGHT play... depends on staffing for the other events and what is on tap the rest of the time. (DUCT TAPE / Board Games)

The plan for this, I believe, is to play before most people have gotten out of bed in the morning.

I am considering playing, but I'm also flying into town so I can't bring my clubs.

I think I might be able to swing this event. I need specifics regarding $$$. Money id unbelievably tight.

    Regarding this event.

I can probably bring 2 sets of clubs (Extra) for those that need them. One very important thing is... Are you a lefty or a Righty? I know I can get 2 sets of Righty...but if someone needs a lefty, that is more difficult, but I think I can still pull it off.

Those of you that want to play. Please be 100% sure you are going to make every effort to play before you ask me to bring clubs :)
I am beginning to have a very full car, what with trying to bring 3 PCs and some network gear as well.

    Thanks

The Course lists $30 for 18 holes with a cart. When we call them, we can try for less, since we are trying to bring 8 people.

    Plan on $30.

    Ok, we have 6.

I am calling the course Tuesday morning to reserve the tee times.

You can have 4 in a group per tee time, so there is still 2 spots open if someone wants to play. I know the_technocrat had mentioned playing so let me know.

I will post back with the official tee times.
