XP Disc not recognised on new Gigabyte Motherboard

I Have just built a new System based around a Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4 Motherboard, with an AMD 5200X2 Processor I done a clean install of vista which worked straight away, but was incompatible with the vast majority of my software, so I decided to go back to XP. I formatted my hard drive but when I tried to boot from the xp disc it was not recognised I am sure my BIOS setting are correct because if I put the vista disc back in it is recognised, and I know the XP disc is fine because it boots on my other systems. I would really appreciate some help with this because i am totally stuck and very frustrated. Yours hopefully Jamie

Jamie, first step is try another IDE cable with CD drive. Also, double check the jumper on the drive and ensure it corresponds to the cable position on which the drive is - slave or master. The drive should also have a Cable Select jumper position. Give that a try also.
