Ok, so when I type in word 2007, I can't highlight what I've typed. What's more, when I hit the window button and go to options I can't click on any of the 'tabs' if that's what they're still called.

Did you do a custom install or full install?

What version of Windows are you running?
Did Word 2007 come installed or is this an upgrade?
I'm sure you've tried reloading the software. If not, I'd start there.

    Good luck.

I just did a full install. I was able to highlight, and then it just stopped. This is just a corporate version from my university.

Clumsy, yes, but the only idea I came up with is to uninstall and reinstall. I run Office 2007 as well - Enterprise edition through a work purchase program. I could not replicate the problem you described.

Is this problem with all documents? If it's just one document, maybe you've set some strange permissions. That doesn't seem logical but I can't think of anything else.

Hey, there is something you can try. Microsoft Office 2007, at least Enterprise version, has a diagnostics utility in Microsoft Office Tools. If you have it, give it a try - "Microsoft Office Diagnostics."

If that doesn't work, an uninstall/reinstall should be pretty easy.

already uninstalled it or I would. I got tired of it.

I'm going to be really pissed if I have to redo my exchange profile. It was a major PITA (read 2 hours on phone with tech) to get it working because the university has their firewall set to paranoid.

I was bound determine to go back to office 2003, but the university pulled the office 2003 download.
