Tactical situation

Here's my lay-of-the-land:

Roadblock (southwest near TBonZ, Q, Broady, sidekick, Harudath) is deep in Panther's powerbase. It has mostly defensive troops (500 Leg, 500 Prae) with 200 of each currently with a2j. It also has a 200+ cavalry and 700 Imp strike force for short ranges. I don't raid in that area to avoid entangling myself with Panther raids. One Panther player has 3 huge bases right next to it. I can make it hurt, but they can take it if they get nasty.

Beachhead (southeast of powerbase, CJ is closest) is my main powerhouse with 1600 Imperians - very fast (200+% speed from tourney square) and upgraded (lvl 15+ weapons & armor) - and a 400+ cavalry. It has small defensive forces at both its oases in case of emergency, and couple hundred scouts. Barrack and Stable are max for very fast troop production. It also has 10 rams and 30 catas if someone needs flattening. It raids ~10 farms every free minute I have, but it's in a slightly precarious position with many large players nearby (hence holding defensive troops in my oases). That said, it was scouted precisely once last week and I haven't heard from anyone since. Its cavalry can reach the powerbase in an hour.

Shipwreck (powerbase) has a rapidly-expading force currently of 500 Imperians and 100 cavalry, plus a hundred scouts. My hero is also there, and it's raiding furiously. I regard this force as quite safe and ready to attack anything as it grows. My cavalry from Beachhead assisted it in a two-prong raid last night.

That summarizes my forces at the moment so you all know what I can do.

My fifth and sixth villages, in/near the powerbase, are nearly self-sufficient. I expect they will be fueling our militaries in the powerbase by the end of the week. Scarlett will produce higher levels of iron, and Wild Bill, er, lumber.

    Snake-Eyes is now producing 12,500 wheat / hour. :eek3:

My plan is to move my capital to Flint, eventually. First, I'm going to build up my 4 other villages at the outpost. Flint will primarily build a defensive army to guard the outpost once people start moving in nearby. Lady Jaye, the other 15-cropper, will be offensive. I haven't decided between Imperians and cavalry there, but I'm leaning toward Imperians.

Beachhead is building a level 20 blacksmith and is pumping out Imperians as fast as my level 20 barracks can do so (I've decided to abandon cavalry creation for now). It has 1400+ Imperians so far and it traded its clay oasis for a wheat one, so my potential force size there is ~6,000 Imperians. I expect to have that by the weekend.

Aries (Capital) - Almost at 20k in resources every hour. After that, I will switch to defensive units. Spearmen and Paladins. That will maximize the defense and allow me to work on shoring up Hydra.

Cetus - Feel alone out there... Broady is close but no one seems to notice me. GOOD. I'm maxed out on all resources so about 17k in resources/hour. I'm buying Axemen, Macemen, and Knights. The macemen are already approaching 1,000, axemen nearing 200, and knights at 100. Knights and Macemen are leveling nicely. I have also built 5 catapults. As I progress, 70% will go towards troops (30% Macemen, 20% axemen, 20% Knights, 5% catapults) and 30% training. Cetus, as state before, has many friends (Fourstar, Draggs, Dory) from Zero that should keep it safe from local agression.

Gemini - 15-cropper... Maxed Wood, Clay, and Iron (938/hour) and wheat are all at lvl7 (4400/hr). Just resource and storage building right now. Next will be hero's mansion so I can grab one of the oasis.

Hydra - Little kid that could... All resources around the 5th level. About 2k/hr total. Fairly balanced production. I've only built a market, warehouse, and granary. I have built the storage to allow for plenty of extra space to accomidate overflow (or the occational quick ditching of resources before an attack). My plan is to continue resource building for several days... no troops, no wall, no residence, nothing to be worth attacking.

You might consider a level 10 residence to start a second equal-resource-distribution village at the outpost. It's fairly cheap if your capital sends the supplies. A 15-cropper isn't helpful without a local supply station(s).

I'm planning on staying at four villages to avoid being raped, like you did. Had I known that godsend was going to rear his ugly head a day or two earlier, I would have sent Hydra to the Outpost. If things get level out, I will pop a village out in the outpost.

Keebler... When you say level 20, do mean both offensively and defensively?

i think offensively since the defence bonus only applies when you're attacked, and he's looking for an OFFENSIVE army...
    :)

I was just generalizing. Specifically, they have level 20 attack and level 18 defense, currently upgrading to 19.

The wall is also level 20, so Beachhead, while not impervious, will withstand moderate assaulting on its own. :)

//edit: Also, they will number 2,400 by 8:30pm (ET) - I produce 100 every 3 hours and it's almost always going. I also have about a thousand other units to deter attacks/scouts of my oases.

I'm going to train a support group of about 500-700 units to aid, then I'll hand out resources to those that need them, since I've been more defensive-minded/based from the start

My own force is growing pretty fast. I've been focusing on attack-based units so I have mostly macemen, slightly smaller numbers of axemen and some knights as well.

Right now I'm at about 500 between the macemen and axemen, and almost 150 knights. And they're almost always growing.

I've made it a priority to get City Halls built in Beachhead and Wild Bill to further secure them from hostile takeovers.

I've also decided to cap my number of villages at the current 8 until my 15-croppers are populated and fielding armies.

Agreed... I already have town halls in both Aries and Cetus. Both have walls of 14 or greater and Aries has stonemason at lvl18. Aries should be somewhat difficult to take unless done in mass.

How's you 15-cropper doing? Mine is almost at 9k for wheat and maxed for the rest (938). My hero is on the way there now to take an oasis (-77|284). Just need an army built to wipe out the critters... but not until later.

Lady Jaye (the one next to you) is doing well; its wheat fields are level 5 and the other 3 are 10s of course.

However, I'm mostly using it as the supply depot for all my outpost bases. It has a maxed Warehouse and a level 8 Market, so it received 60-80K of each resource a day from my 3 self-sufficient villages and doles them out to build up the 3 "regular" villages around it. Once they are maxed out, they will in turn supply the 15-cropper to build its defense. Its level 10 residence spun off one of the 3 villages, and its Hero Mansion is level 10.

The other 15-cropper next door, Flint, has only minimal infrastructure built. It will be my capital in a week or two.

I don't build Brickworks, Sawmill, or Foundry in my 15-croppers; they need room for military infrastructure and the payoff isn't enough to warrant it.

I had to buy another granary in order to keep it from maxing out in 5 hours. I can store 98000 wheat now. Sounds like you have a nice system. With that much coming in and going out, you don't need to use the NPC merchant. ;D

i have 2 wheat fields in bakery hotel level 9, everything else is level 10, i have a level 4 bakery, level 5 iron foundry, level 4 sawmill, level 4 brickworks.
it all makes lots of resources, and i calculated i get one iron every 1.2 seconds :)

Yeah, it can be fun when you're producing over 3k of everything an hour. ;)

To update everyone on my current situation, Medlock now has a couple resource fields at 10 and will have brickworks, etc in the next day or so. After that I'll start working on another residence and start a third village at the outpost. I think I can have most of this done before the 25th, when I leave for 5 days (see the sitters thread).

Eh, I probably use it more than I should - I use it to balance out my wheat surpluses in Roadblock, Beachhead, and Wild Bill a lot of days :-/

I'm trying to stop using my gold for that. I've been trading my surplus for needed resources and it's been working out pretty well so far. If you keep on top of it, you can get a good cycling of resources going. TF2 is clay deficient, one of those 5,3,4,6 plots, and I constantly have to trade my wood to keep my clay up. Pain in the ass but it works well without gold.

Hard at the Outpost though, nobody there. ;D

Why is that? Was Saracen provoking him for some reason? I'm as close to silkesvarten as Saracen is and yet I've only been attacked twice so far. *knock on wood*

Not at all, didn't scout or attack anything of his. I'm surprised I managed to fend him off for so long to be honest.
Perhaps his constant attacks last week not bringing in the rewards was the provocation ??

He did say he would give me a week to get the 2nd village up and running. at least he kept his word.
